Goonengerry's Frank Peate passed away peacefully in the hospital in Mullumbimby. A lovely funeral service was held and it was standing room only. Many stories were told about Frank by his family and friends. The Mullumbimby Rural Co-ooperative closed for the afternoon so all the staff could attend and pay tribute to one of the founding directors.

Frank during his life worked hard and made his mark. He was one of the original timber men. Frank held the sugar cain cutting title in the 40's. There are so many stories about the big barefooted legend that a book or two could easily be written.

If anyone has photos or stories about Frank please send them in. Goonengerry will miss you Frank.
